Mon cher Jacques
::Hier soir cinq alertes successives
Il parait d'ailleurs qu 'il y a eu
des bombes dans le port. La chasse
Anglaise a survolé la ville en
rase motte! Devant chez moi il
y a eu un combat enfer 7 ou 8
zincs qui a bien durè dix
minutes, avec les canons legers
terrestres tirant dans le tas! Un
vacarme de premier classe. Et
pendant ce temps je fumais
ma pipe dans mon fauteuil. Nous
nous trouvons vraiment dans une
drole de situation . On se bat au
dessus , autour de nous sont des
hommes qui touchent une indemnitè
de feu (de combat , ou de front comme
tu voudras) et nous , nous jouons le
role de l'homme-dans-la-lune de
H.G. Wells!!! En attendant (inutile de
le dire à Clairac) on va evacuer les
vieillards , les enfants et les inutiles.
Abbeville est à moitie évacuèe . Ca barde.
::Pas encore reçu maillot H.A.C. As
tu trouvé un slip pour moi?
::A propos de chasse , peut tu
m'envoyer les deux livres du capitaine
Accord. Il parait qu'ils sont remarquables
 
mais egalement introuvables par ici . Merci !

My dear Jacques
::Last night five successive alerts
It even appeared that there was
bombs in the port. The English
hunt flew by the city in
low! In front of my place there
was a hell of a combat 7 ou 8
krauts which lasted well ten
minutes, with the light ground
canons firing in the stack!
first class racketing noise. And
during this time I smoked
my pipe in my armchair. We
found ourselves really in a
funny situation . We fought right
under , around us are some
men who touched an indemnity
of fire (of combat , or from the front as
you would like) and we, we play the
role of man-in-the-moon of
H.G. Wells!!! While waiting (unnecessary to
say it to Clairac) we are going to evacuate the
elderly , the children and the useless.
Abbeville is half evacuated. Its becoming dangerous

you found a slip for me?
::As for the hunt , can you
send me the two books from the captain
Agree. It seems that they are remarkable
