Aux Armèes le 26·2·45

 Chers Parents
Si Jamais vous êtes invitè
à la fête du Têt munissez vous de
pilules Carter et de bismuth. Si nous
n'en avons pas crevè ,.c'est que
vraiment nous sommes solides . Hier
midi et hier soir nous n'avons
mangè que du cochon , tuè et
prèparè par nos Indochinois.
6 plats le matin autant le soir
et quels plats! lard sucrè etc...
Ce matin toute la section est
sur le flanc et la Pharmacie
en a pris un vieux coup. C'etait
d'ailleurs très sympathique. Une
grande table avec officiers , sous-offs
et troupe. Au dessert , chansons
et pour finir notre hymne et la
Marseillaise , après l'allocution du
Capitaine. et du plus ancien
sous-off annamite.

to the holiday of the Têt bring yourselves some
Carter and bismuth pills. If we
we have not starved enough ,.it is that
really we are solid . Yesterday
noon and yesterday night we had not
eaten more than pig , killed and
prepared by our Indochinese.
6 plates the morning as much as the night
and what plates! sugared lard etc...
This morning the whole section is
on the flank and the Pharmacy
took an old hit. It was
moreover very nice. A
big table with officers , NCOs
and troops. During dessert , songs
and to finish our anthem and the
Marseillaise , after the allocution of the
Capitain. and furthermore old
Annamite NCO.


Nous sommes en ce moment
dans un petit village typiquement
alsacien. Les promenades sont plutot.
limitèes , tous les champs étant
minès. Je crois d'ailleurs que nous
allons encore bougèr! de vrais oiseaux
sur la branche. Si cela continue
je pourrais m'engager comme
docker après la guerre!
Toujours pas de nouvelle de ma
mutation . Comme notre Cdt est au
lit avec une crise de paludisme
avec congestion pulmonaire , je ne
peux pas me renseigner.
Toujours pas de lettres non plus!
Je vais probablement en recevoir
dix ou quinze à la fois , m'attrapant
pour ne pas repondre aux questions
posèes! « Si tu avais la lettre à
laquelle tu reponds devant toi en
ecrivant, cela n'arriverait pas.»

We are in this moment
in a little typical alsacian
village. The journeys are rather.
limited , all the fields being
mined. I believe also that we
are going to move again! some real birds
on the branch. If this continues
I could engage myself as
docker after the war!
Still no news of my
transfer . As our Cdt is in the
bed with a malaria attack
with congestion of the lung , I can
not inform myself.
Still no letters either!
I am probably going to receive some
ten or fifteen at a time , catching me
to not respond to the questions
posed! « If you had the letter to
the one which you respond before you while
writing, this would not arrive.»
